Our Life Is A Zoo

Sort of.. Jordan and I took the girls to the Fort Worth Zoo for the 4th of July holiday and by the look of the crowds (legit) that gathered anytime we stopped for a photo-op {or simply just stopped}you would have thought we were toting around one of Brangelina’s 12 (6) kids. People don’t care about me or about my handsome hubs.. just how cute they are, or what they are wearing, or the bows on their head, or their cheesy grins flashed in all directions to provoke and ‘ohhh’ or ‘awwww’ from anyone in a 5 foot radius.

And I’m okay with that. Other twin momma’s can totally relate:)

ANYway- back to the zoo.  Jordan had to work on the actual holiday, so I took the 3rd off and we headed out for 1/2 price day at the zoo.  It was a ZOO.  Tons of people, everywhere! But, all in all it wasn’t as bad as it could have been and the weather was absolutely perfect.

We finally busted out the stroller seats for the first time and the girls were SO comfy!  They are still a little too small, and we had straps about a mile long after adjusting them snuggly into the seats, but it was still better, more comfortable, and easier to move around than using the carseat adapters.

Let me just say.. the short lived ‘conversation’ during the building of our registry about getting the purple seats over the black seats was well worth the {super} easy battle won on my part.  It is SO pretty!  Besides.  Who is really going to argue with a pregnant woman of twins?

To see how we made this single stroller into a double for twins- visit my FAQ page.

We made out way through the zoo in it’s entirety.. and of course stopping by the elephaaaants and the giraffes (my favorite!).  Had to snap a couple shots of the turtles (in honor of my turtle baby Jolie Grace) and the super creepy alligator.

Daddy showing the girls the giraffes and explaining to them why they MUST love them and why we have a plethora of giraffe paraphernalia exploding from their room and baskets of stuffed babies.

The girls didn’t find super interest in much of anything, except the penguins.  They were fascinated by the wiggling birds.  One little guy came right up to the glass and shook his {tail} feathers.

Parker got a real kick out of it!  I am so excited to see how they act when they really understand what they are looking at.

I was embarrassed after taking this picture.. the amout of people that were observing/gawking/watching/gathering was relatively uncomfortable for this momma. The girls were so distracted, and after witnessing the crowd building, I didn’t care well enough to get one of them actually looking at the camera.

Then Jolie decided she was all big or something..

After a quick lunch, the girls snoozed the the rest of the zoo trip.. well, almost..

Until the last exhibit when a little boy was squeeling about the Komodo Dragon almost right on top of my children.  Jolie really wanted to see what the fuss was about.

It was the most perfect day.  I really look forward to more outings like this with my sweet man and our girls.  So much fun just our little family.

Since we were celebrating a day early and our actual 4th of July holiday would be spent in our PJ’s, I dressed them in their Independence Day garb for the zoo and they looked so super cute.  They have worn that romper more times than any other piece of clothing they own.

Happy Independence Day from these Star Spangled Booties!

I used to love going to that zoo when I was little! One time I took a bunch of Hershey's kisses in my fanny pack (yep) there with me on a summer day… you can guess how that turned out.

And yes, love what a spectacle we are every time we take the babies out in public!

Am I the only one that caught that you said you're pregnant?! Or did I miss an announcement? 🙂
