Labor Day typically signals the end of summer and even though our family of four filled our time with lots of fun in the sun in the weeks leading up to Baker’s arrival, yesterday felt like the perfect last summer fling with our newest little in tow.
Yesterday was hot. The kind of hot when you don’t come out of your bathing suit and sit wet haired by the pool snacking on chips and BB’s ranch dip in place of lunch and scarf down grilled steak and baked potatoes with sun-kissed rosy cheeks for dinner.
This girl got her first taste of water.. her toes were dipped in a few times and he didn’t totally hate it, but she was just fine lounging in her mama’s lap in the shade instead.
Can we just talk about how much I love a baby in a hat? Headbands are phenomenal, but baby hats are just perfect!
Our Labor Day started out slow – Jordan let me sleep in and then we ate an easy breakfast and drank coffee together. We had made plans to spend the day with Jordan’s parents at their best friend’s home, Tim and Teresa. We love those sweet people and my babies ADORE them.
Plus.. their backyard looks like this..
BB hit the jackpot on the end-of-summer clearance of pool toys – our first run with the goggles was a success! Parker thought they were hilarious!
Jolie’s smile is the sweetest!
Baker went down for a cat nap and I was able to get in the pool for the first time since I was 39 weeks pregnant. The attempts at family pictures with a couple of 2 year olds is getting interesting.
I prefer the silly, candid ones, anyway:)
It was the perfect afternoon with my people.
After a yummy dinner around a big table of good friends and family.. and lots of instruction from Jolie to ‘eat you salaad’.. we ended the day with homemade cookies and cream ice cream.
Happy Tuesday! Also.. how awesome is it that its already Tuesday?
I hope you all had a great weekend!
XO!
