Covering All the Bases | vita fusion™ Review

As a registered dietitian, I make it a real point to feed myself and and my family whole foods and real ingredients in attempt to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Of course, we do have fruity cereal hanging out in our pantry, but for the most part – we stick to the ‘good stuff’.
When I became pregnant with Parker and Jolie 3 years ago (still can’t wrap my head around the fact that its been that long..) I, of course, started taking prenatal supplements – as I would recommend to all my pregnant clients. Something you probably don’t know about me… I do not swallow pills well AT ALL. I will literally ‘suffer through’ a splitting headache, you know, the kind that you get behind your eyes, before I’ll pop a pill for relief. I have been that way my entire life- I hate swallowing pills. Antibiotics are killer for me. I spent the majority of my pregnancy with Parker and Jolie fighting off upper respiratory infections, and every time I went to the doctor it was 10 more days of those terrible yellow horse pills. Those supplements were enormous.. and tasted TERRIBLE. Both of them would sit in the back of my throat and there was nothing I could do to make it go down. It was my discovery of gummy vitamins that seemed to solve all my pill-swallowing problems. Not to mention, they taste good, too!
vitafusion™ is rooted in the belief that healthy habits should be enjoyable so that you’ll keep on doing them. This healthy habit for me is actually taking the supplements I’m required to maintain the nutritional status I need. Halfway through my first pregnancy, my OB suggested that I start taking a vitamin D supplement to assist in bone health.* It can occur as a natural declination as a female, too, not just to those of us who are pregnant. The search was on for a gummy vitamin to assist. No horse pills? No problem. vitafusion™ has got me covered.
The makers of vitafusion™ offer a pretty robust portfolio of vitamins, minerals and other dietary supplements to meet your health needs through every stage of life. The convenience of having these vitamins available to me wherever I need them was the best part. At that point in our lives, we were venturing out very far from the house with two wee babies.
vitafusion™ gummy vitamins are available at club, mass, drug and grocery stores nationwide including: Costco, Walmart, Target and Walgreens.

  1. I was all about the gummy vitamins during my pregnancy! While it was nice to not have to swallow a pill, I also found that I was much less likely to have the glorious side effect of nausea going this route. Will definitely keep using gummies!

  2. Lindsey Reha says:

I'm just taking my prenatal vitamin right now, but I would be interested in trying the gummy vitamins!

  3. I'm 21 weeks pregnant with my first and I just recently switched to vitafusion gummy prenatals! SO much better than those horrible giant pills that start to dissolve before you can swallow them. Ugh. I'm sad I didn't take these from the beginning.

  4. kayla pfeil says:

I hate taking huge pills too! I think I could totally do the Vitafusion!

  5. I currently take a multi vitamin and extra vitamin d. I don't use gummies, haven't tried them, but my kids do!

  6. Mandi says:

I've never tried the gummy vitamins, but I will definitely give them a try after reading this (and the positive comments as well!).

  8. kellyr78 says:

I took prenatal vitamins while pregnant.

  13. Becca says:

I don't have a problem taking pills, and right now I'm pregnant so I'm taking a prenatal, calcium + D, and B-complex to fight nausea. My son takes gummy vitamins and loves them, he thinks they're a treat!

  14. I have never had a problem swallowing pills but would prefer the gummies. I never buy them for myself because I feel the price is so much more when you get so much less because you have to end up eating more than 1 for the full dose, opposed to just swallowing one and being on my way!

  15. Nora Moreno says:

As a fellow RD, I am typically weary of supplements, but I always recommend prenatal, vitamin D and calcium for women of child bearing age. Insta: @cedarmoreno

I take a calcium supplement, fish oil supplement and gummy multi vitamin all from Costco and all Costco brand though I have used vitafusion when available. I also use vitamin d drops from January-ish until april-ish when I have used up my vitamin D stores. The calcium supplement also has vitamin D to help with the calcium absorbtion.

  20. Took, and still take, the gummy prenantals Up and Up brand. The taste is wearing on me and I'd like to try another brand!

  21. I thought you took the Honest Co. Prenatal pills? Have you switched to these because they were too hard to swallow?

  22. amber says:

    Catherine-
These are not prenatal vitamins- these are vitamin D Supplements for bone health:)

  25. ellibeesmom says:

  26. Mami2jcn says:

I'm pregnant so I'm taking prenatal vitamins. Gummy vitamins would be fun to try.

  27. Sarah Carter says:

Oh my goodness, I can't believe you are doing a post about gummy vitamins! They (actually this brand) saved me during my twin pregnancy! I've always been terrible with taking pills coupled with severe morning sickness, gummy vitamins were the only thing I could keep down. Still take them now and plan to give them to my girls (child version) when they are older and need a multi-vitamin daily.

I am taking calcium and vitamin D. I really should be taking a multivitamin because I do not eat enough fruits and veggies. yarbr012@gmail.com

I love how perfectly timed this post is. My breast cancer specialist recently told me to start taking a D vitamin (apparently research shows it reduces risk of breast cancer, who knew?!) and I was DREADING taking it. I barely took my prenatal vitamins (horrible, I know) because I hate pills so much. Then I found gummies and now I LOVE taking my daily vitamin. All hail gummies!

  30. Bethany says:

  32. Rachel says:

I can't swallow pills either! My trick is to put some food in my mouth, chew it up and then right before I swallow, through the pill in! It works and tricks me everytime! I just hope that there never comes a day when I have to take medicine but am restricted to no food 🙁

  33. I love vitafusion gummies. They are so much easier to take than actual pills.

I take a lot of different supplements and having them in a gummy form would be nice but I've noticed that some of them do not have the amounts needed and so you'd have to take four or five of them and they are so large that the bottles hold fewer gummies than most carry tablets. While I'd love the convenience of gummies and the better taste too! I'll have to stick with my budget conscious pills.
