Fall Dreaming | Mini Style

Its hot.
Sweltering hott (with an extra ‘t’).  Would you believe that we are actually having a mild summer?
Its only hit 100 degrees a handful of times and we even had a cold front come in over the weekend, bringing us down to 95.
Blech.
Thankfully I wasn’t completely miserable while pregnant this summer, but postpartum – you guys.. I am basically suffocating.  These hormones are raging, not to mention breastfeeding keeps me in a constant state of sweat. Lets just say I haven’t shut down the ‘no-pants club’ just yet.

When my girls were asked to style the Madame Pear collections for Taylor Joelle, I just about died when I received these skirts in the mail.
Day dreams of fall weather started cranking through my head.. and I know I’m not the only one that feels this way.
I could go ahead and throw myself of the bandwagon of #OMGILOVEFALL, because, I really do.
But, it doesnt take a Pumpkin Spice Latte (that would be PSL in the social world) and Hobby Lobby’s premature display of all things orange + brown AND the race to finish Christmas shopping by mid September to put me over the edge of excitement.  I actually prefer the Salted Caramel Mocha over that pumpkin drink, anyway..
BUT- this year I am more excited to be non-sweaty than I am about hoarding 37 pumpkins and gourds on my front porch.
Just saying.
It seems like across the board with shops (big and small) now is the time to start thinking about fall things (it gets earlier every year, doesn’t it?).
I get so excited to scroll through my IG (@masseya) and see all the cooler weather inspiration, because..
mustard color anything is my love language.

I was in search of a good denim shirt for the girls, and came upon both of these in the boys section of H+M.  I confess to have shopped the boys section of the store since my days of toting wee teeny babes in the enormous double stroller through Carter’s in search of onesies and pajamas.
I needed options! Besides, their daddy is a firefighter, so they can get away with a fire truck plastered across their baby bootie.
While the girls aren’t always wearing boy gear, I do browse just in case I find something perfect for what I had in mind..
which is exactly what happened when I came upon these shirts.
I have grand plans of pairing that cream and blue ‘blouse’ with leggings and boots and throwing a vest over it.  I picked up a couple hot pink puffer vests over the weekend (Target does it again), and now I’m wishing for the entire outfit in my size.
You wear it well, sweet Jolie:)

Taylor Joelle’s The Madame Pear Collection is 20% off right now, and they are having a site wide back to school sale with discounts up to 85% off!
Now.. if thats not a reason to stock up on a fall wardrobe for your littles.
pssst.. they have baby boy things, too!
back to school >>football season>>all things pumpkin>>sweater weather
fall isn’t too far off.
but today..
today its 100 degrees.
tomorrow its 101 degrees.
..and we will hit 104 degrees three times this week.
Text me before you come a knocking at my door.. just to make sure I’m wearing pants.

I'm all on board the fall train! I may or may not have brought out the décor yesterday. I'm swooning over these outfits! We just found out we're having a girl, so I know what I'll be doing today 🙂

  2. Cassie says:

I'm 34 weeks pregnant this week in the height of the southern summer heat. Yesterday I told the hair stylist to take off at least 4-5 inches to shoulder length so I could survive. And it feels so much better! I couldn't be happier.

  3. Natasha says:

OMGosh! They are just too adorable in those skirts! Poor thing! I vividly remember nursing my girls in September in upstate New York and being drenched in sweat, always! Between the lingering keen sense of smell, hormones and water-faucet-like dripping of milk I felt like I smelled like curdled milk, ewww, AND it was only in the high 70s there!! Bless you in 100 degree weather!!

  4. I'm in south Florida & we are always #TeamNoPants ?

  6. So precious! I cannot wait for fall either, because that means that I'll be getting married! Just hoping the beautiful fall colors in WI are on point the weekend of 10/10 <3

Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos! And the fall dreaming… I can't wait for pumpkin flavored anything and football season either!

    xoxo
