My heart is heavy. I’m sure like much of the world. At least 13 of the U.S service members were killed outside of Kabul’s airport.
We try to keep the kids guarded as much as possible but with news and all the communication, it’s hard sometimes to control my emotions. It’s hard to absorb the world goes on while those who have fought for our country and helped other countries will not return to their family. These heroes were so young. They had their entire life ahead of them.
Life will go on for most of us. We will drop our kids off at school, go to the store for milk, head to the post office, go to our dentist appointments, doctor appointments, continue on with sports activities while these families and friends continue to grieve.
Below are those who lost their lives working the front line. Please keep their families in your thoughts.
If you are looking for an organization to give back, American Gold Star Families is a great place to consider for families of the fallen military.
I’m so grateful for this community. And please feel free to send me suggestions of other organizations to support. Keep your loved ones close tonight. Make that phone call to tell that family member you love them.
