I get the opportunity to work with a lot of amazing brands. I also get the opportunity to work with a lot of brands founded by inspiring women. These women didn’t take no for an answer. They are breaking glass ceilings and have become not only top female entrepreneurs but top entrepreneurs in their industry. I have loved supporting all of these female founded businesses over the years and I love the paths they are setting for the next generation.
A luxury luggage brand- Co-Founded by Jen Rubio when she was in the airport and found her luggage sprawled out on the floor. She had to use straps and tape to get her luggage to function again. And that is how Away was created. Jen wanted a suitcase with a durable hard-shell, including wheels and a built-in battery pack to charge phones and other devices.
Beddy’s was founded by moms, Betsy Mikesell and Angie White, who, like most of us most mornings, frustrated with telling our kids to make their bed for the 67th time that morning. This genius innovation is similar to a sleeping bag but on your bed. It’s really simple. To make your bed, you zip and go on your way. There are no uneven sides, no hanging comforter. Everything is neatly “tucked” in.
Founder, Baylee Relf, created Dime Beauty because she saw a need for skincare for women of all ages and one that had clean ingredients. Baylee noticed there were not many clean skincare options for all the different cycles of life and for all the stages. She wanted to create clean skincare that was also affordable.
Founded by Stephanie (Carter) Nichols. Stephanie started her own traveling retail business, Deja Vu, when she was 21! Now if this doesn’t scream overachiever, I don’t know what does. Then launched Judith March in 2009 which details her own prints and styles. There are so many things I love from Judith March, but one of my all-time favorites is the custom jacket with Massey stitched on the back.
Kendra started her jewelry company while on bedrest pregnant with her first child. She started with $500 and was determined to make her jewelry into a business opportunity. She went door to door to local boutiques in Austin selling her pieces. All with her son right by her side. Now Kendra Scott has over 100 storefront locations that include the color bar where customers customize their own jewelry.
Founded by friends, Anne Read Lattimore and Cassandra Cannon, to create the softest and most relaxing Pajamas. The idea started when these friends were new moms and noticed their own pajamas were lacking style and comfort. LAKE wants you to enjoy comfort with the ones you love.
Kendall Meaders started KenzKustomz in 2021. She offers custom-made accessories from make-up bags and tote bags to denim jackets. My stadium purse is one of my favorite items and one I get asked about the most. This is a great shop for unique and personalized bridesmaids’ gifts. And all to think. She started this out of her condo in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Founded by Tori Gerbig. She started by selling clothing and accessories on Etsy and eBay in 2013. Within 6 months, Pink Lily became a fully operating online retailer. I have been wearing Pink Lily clothing for years now. I love the trendy styles they offer. Tori says when you reach one goal, set another.
Maureen Kelly started tarte™ in her one-bedroom apartment and launched her first product – the cheek stain. She was looking for exciting beauty products with ingredients you could pronounce. In 2017, tarte™ founded heart to tarte™, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to help support causes like anti-cyberbullying, environmental conservancy, animal rescue, disaster relief & women’s & children’s health initiatives.
Founded by Dr. Roshini Raj. She has been studying in the medical world for over 20 years. She saw the positive impact of her patients’ internal health from probiotics of a natural diet and supplements. So with this medical knowledge, she applied it to skincare. Tula products are part of my everyday routine and I never travel without them. (see my daily skincare routine here.)
In 1998, Sara Blakely cut the feet out of her pantyhose to make her outfit look more appealing. At that moment, Spanx was created. Spanx has become a pop-culture icon and continues to grow into a household name. From bras, underwear, leggings (hello moto), activewear to jackets. Spanx is a must.
In 2011, Katrina Lake founded Stitch Fix on the idea that shopping can be better. She built a team that puts clients/customers first. As a customer, you have a personal stylist who selects 5 articles of clothing perfectly curated for YOU. If you don’t like something, you can easily send it back. Are you ready to take the quiz and have a Stitch Fix stylist create your next outfits?
These female entrepreneurs are making a huge impact. They are opening doors for others and encouragement to more females to reach their dreams.
