lake weekend

we’re home after a full weekend of fun (and lots of kids) at the lake! our supper club hit up the Tapella’s lake house for a long weekend to finish off the last of Spring Break- complete with 4000 pictures, boat rides, burgers on the grill, fishing with leftover hotdogs from lunch, and lots of memories made. among the four families we have 11 kids that are 6 and under, with another baby girl growing in Jacqueline’s belly to make 12 by the end of April. the days are busy (and loud) with a kid crew of that size all under one roof! but I wouldn’t trade overhearing the giggles + silly conversations at the ‘kid table’ and imaginary play with friends you’ve known since birth for anything. I was nervous about taking Jo away from home the week after her surgery, but she was feeling great and hasn’t taken any kind if pain medicine or motrin since last week! she had to rest a bit more than any of the other kids, but I think a little get away from the house helped to get her spirits up!

we were worried about rain but the weather ended up being awesome! totally felt like summer. aside from the water being a little too chilly to swim, the kids ran around in shorts and their bathing suits for most of the day. this weekend has me so excited for the warmer months to come.

we’ve been traveling together for about 8 years now, and this lake house is by far my favorite place to be with some of our closest friends. I’ll let the pictures do the talking for our weekend recap at the lake!

There is literally nothing better than life long friends- I have that with 6 other people- our grandparents were/are besties, our parents and us.
-spent our summers at the lake together
    -entire childhood grew up together
-had each other in our weddings + now aunties and uncles to each others babies.
All these kiddos are little now but the next 20 years will be the most incredible bond you’ve ever seen & these people are truly the best gift you could have ever given your kids!

  4. Sarah says:

I know so many people, myself included, that would die for this type of community. Hold onto it with all you got!
