guys! the playroom makeover is finally finished! we put the final touches on the kids’ playroom and I LOVE how it has turned out. this space was once our dining room but about 4 years ago we turned it into a playroom in hopes to organize the plethora of toys we had piled in every corner of the house! I never really organized the space the way it should be, so it ended up being just more piles of toys. in the meantime, I realized that our kids didn’t play with even half of the toys we had in that room and would rather draw, color, or read. so we purged about 85% of their toys for donation and got to work making it into a more usable space!
as always, links are listed at the bottom of the post; if I missed anything let me know!while browsing IKEA for baby decor one Saturday before Baylor was born we came upon this wall desk set up on display and I decided right then that we needed this in the playroom! since we installed this workspace for the big girls they have gotten SO much use out of it! definitely, a great decision to help organize the room. we have used these desks when we updated the girls’ room.
I found these chairs on Amazon and they were very affordable and easy to put together. we added the shiplap wall and hung these personality pictures, framed by nations photo lab. it is the first thing you see when you walk into our home and I love how it brings the room together. the toys we did keep (legos, mega bloks, barbies, and cars) fit inside this buffet cabinet on one side and the other is filled with floor puzzles and magnetic tiles. the entryway, complete with this gorgeous mirror from STAY by Cori Samuel. this update has been the best to date. my kids spend more time in this room than any other!! photography by Jamie Denholm Photography

What a fun room! I’ve been looking for a rug like that and I’m just curious as to whether it feels very soft to sit on and play for extended periods of time. Thoughts?
very comfortable and soft!
Thanks for the reply!
